SharePoint 2013 Hosting Germany – HostForLIFE.eu :: How to deploy a WSP to SharePoint 2013 ?

This tutorial should be done upon the Server that host the SharePoint  2013 Central Administration.

1. Add the WSP towards the SharePoint Server. First thing you have to accomplish is copy over the WSP deployment file. One of the best things you can do is to make a deployment folder, exactly in which all of the deployed files are kept.
2. Copy in the deployment files to: C:DeployWSP
   Now, Add the WSP towards the SharePoint Farm Solution library
   Then, Open the “SharePoint 2013 Management Shell “ as Administrator
   – Open up the Search on Server 2012
   – Look for “SharePoint 2013 Management Shell”
   – Right click “SharePoint 2013 Management Shell”
   – Choose “Run as Administrator”
   Then, RUN this script :
   
   Add-SPSolution "c:\Deploy\WSP\{file name}.wsp"

   1	Add-SPSolution "c:\Deploy\WSP\{file name}.wsp"

3. Deploy the WSP towards the SharePoint Farm Solution library
   Open up Central Administration
   Click “System Settings”
   
   Now, Select the “Manage farm solutions”, below “Farm Management”

4. Then select {file name}.wsp package
5. Click “Deploy Solution”

6. Deployment settings:
   Deploy When: Now
   Deploy to: All content Web application
7. Click “OK”

Activate the WSP Feature upon the Site Collection

• Open up the Root Site (the Site Collection)
• Click the cog, in the top right corner (Site Actions)
• Choose “Site Settings”
• Click “Site collection features”, below “Site Collection Administrator”
• Move to {file name}
• Click “Activate”, towards the right
